Sustainable Development Initiatives

Sustainable Development initiatives are the driving force of IFAO Development Associates. IFAO aims at initiating, designing, and implementing programs in partnership with stakeholders that protect and restore the environment, economy, and the socio-cultural well being of communities in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Development Advocacy

Our advocacy helps
   To create a more responsible society
   To create awareness and promote the best for women, youths and other vunerable or marginalised people.
   By giving society the ability to understand, contextualise and apply knowledge and skills relevant to addressing issues of their comunities and countries.

Employability Skills Development

Global youth unemployment is on the rise particularly, Africa. This could be attributed to lack of relevant skills appropriate for the job market or lack of entrepreneurial orientation and tools for the youth to start or grow their own businesses.

IFAO Development Associates is poised to close this gap by helping youth and young adult to acquire the employability and industry specific skills needed by employers as well as unearthing the entrepreneurial potentials of people for job creation.

Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

In Africa, about 353 million people have no access to safe drinking water. In addition, 2.6 billion people lack access to basic sanitation services, and 892 million practice open defecation. Poor water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) for example, lead to increase diarrhoea disease, which is the leading cause of death in Sub-Saharan Africa.

IFAO has position itself and poised to partner with relevant state stakeholders and development partners to address these issues in a collaborative and innovative approaches.

Returnee and Migrant Re-integration

IFAO Development Associates aims at implementing initiatives that creates opportunities for returning migrants and their families to build their capacities in order to cope with economic and livelihoods challenges.

Our project mainly focus on
   Returning Migrants Business and Employability skills development.
   Socio-Psycological counselling.
   Mobilization and Sensitization of returning and potential migrants on local opportunities, migration opportunities and dangers of irregular migration.

Refugee Support & Migration Research

Our Refugee Support helps in pre and post-resettlement activities that facilitates intercultural relationships, promote individual autonomy, cultivate social capital, and enrich communities.

In partnership with humanitarian organizations, we support refugees

   With settlement items and other donations.
   To advocate for acceptance and integration.
   In their employment pathways.
   To amplify their voices.
